T O P I C R E V I E WLalafortunaeaIn someone's natal, would you say there's something that could indicate that their partner could suffer from some sort of mental illness? Or simply have emotional instability in some way or another. Not a turn on to it, but just be very likely to attract people like that. (and heck who knows maybe even turned on?)In which instance would they be well equipped to handle such things, and which instance could being with someone unstable be too much for them to handle? And similarly, in synastry, or even in a composite, what aspects could indicate that a partner could have some instability or mental issues, and what aspect with the other person could indicate an affinity for such, and how would the aspects need to interact for it to be favorable? That last question sounds like a mouthful and tricky, but, in any case, whatever you have to say on the subject of possible mental instability in a relationship, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks Something that sparked this is that I've known of some people who've actively sought out highly charged, dramatic relationships and thrived in them, especially when the other person was particularly unstable or suffering from a mental illness. This isn't to say that all people together with a mental illness are together for that reason, or that the only people with someone who exhibits instability are so because of such aspect. This also brings me back to something I heard someone say long ago. Not to sound insensitive, and I am quoting something a man once confessed to me: "I like 'em crazy." His meaning was that he really liked women who seemed unhinged in some way. On that note, astrologically speaking, what could you say about this?ChildofVenusThanks for asking this is something that I've been wanting to know about.Ami AnneCheck the DSC and see what is there. Well, I know that you're quite the astrologer, so, if ever you decide to maybe do an article on the matter, I'd really be interested in reading it.margym0oI think to say straight up "mentally ill" would be a bit of stretch since that is a very specific but also very broad definition, as the spectrum of mental illness varies greatly. In terms of astrology, what pops to mind right away is people who have hard Venus/Pluto aspects (the square in particular) or a lot of Pluto in general in their chart. These folks seem to attract difficult relationships into their lives subconsciously - difficult meaning dating someone who has a lot of their own personal issues (narcissism etc.) because they somehow feel they reflect a lot of their own demons. Hard Venus/Neptune aspects could also be to blame, but in a more innocent, selfless way. These people can be attracted to those they think they can "help" or "save," sometimes to their own demise because they can't see the situation clearly. That or they completely paint over their partner's flaws to see the perfection and then feel blindsided later on when their true colours come out.Ami AnneYea LalafortunaThere is the Deprez asteroid. There is a bad fortune aspect like tragedy asteroid. I have over 300 on my list, I think. If I think of more, I will tell you. Melopomene(sp) is the tragedy aspect. Deprez is the depression aspect. Nessus there may make the person seek for an abusive partner. I should write an article lol xoxoxo------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Also look at 12th house and its ruler in the natal and synastry. 6th house aspects in synastry. Whoever the planet person is may want to help the house person in some way.
